Parasympathetic Community

It was only ten degrees yesterday morning. One fourth of my early morning SilverSneakers class at Active Sports Complex in St. Albans showed up. I learned this circle balancing act at The Retreat WV last weekend, taught by Bunmi Kisimo. By making a circle of energy, we formed a community so that even the frailest of students could lift their legs and do tree pose. We also practiced nose breathing and humming on the exhale at different pitches to vibrate our chest, throat, teeth and nasal area and on up into our sinus, increasing our parasympathetic response (rest and digest vs fight/flight response). It was great play time, and everyone left feeling the energy of the circle on our hands and in our heart.
